The Select Interferential and TENS Unit Combo is a device made for electrotheraphy. It is portable, and features two therapeutic modes. These are Interferential (IF) and Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), which are designed to relieve individuals from pain. A stimulator in them transmits a gentle electrical current to the person's muscle group and underlying nerves through electrodes, which are placed on the skin. The buttons which are on the front panel of the device are for manipulating the parameters of it. Adjust the level of intensity based on the needs of the patients.
Intensity Select IF & TENS Combo brings together Interferential and TENS in order to provide you with the best chance at treating patients who require something a bit stronger than a conventional TENS Unit. There are four modes each of Interferential and TENS on this combo unit. The Intensity IF Combo comes with an AC Adapter, and it is 105mA strong. How TENS Units Work The Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) Unit does not work through magic. Its major intent is to relieve pain. It transmits comfortable impulses along the skin, which then stimulate nerves along the treatment area. By stimulating them, the patient's pain sensation will reduce or be eliminated significantly. The relief which is experienced by each patient will vary, based on the type of pain and the mode which is selected for his or her therapy. Many times, this elimination or reduction in pain will last up to three or four times longer than the period that their nerves are being stimulated. Other times, pain will only be modified during the time that stimulation occurs. Be sure to talk to your therapist or physician about this. Explanation of IF Interferential Stimulation (IF) is a treatment type which is based on anti-inflammatory measures. The stimulation works through alternating current sine or square waves of various frequencies. These cooperate to produce a current which is known as an alternating modulation frequency, or beat pulse. One of the currents is typically at 4,000 Hz, while the other may be held varied or constant between 4,001 and 4,100 Hz. Due to this frequency, the wave meets low impedance it crosses the patient's skin in order to enter the soft tissues. These currents are said to stimulate the pain, motor, and sensory fibers. The large impulse fibers hinder transmission of pain at the spinal cord. There, it stimulates parasympathetic nerve fibers to reduce edema and increase blood flow. Low electric current is used for stimulating muscle nerves to relieve symptomatic, chronic pain, as well as post-surgical and post-traumatic pain.
Waveform Mono-phase square pulse wave Pulse amplitude Adjustable, 0~105mA peak at 1000 ohm Load each channel, 1mA/Step. Pulse Width Adjustable, from 50 to 300us microseconds, 10μS/step Pulse Rate Adjustable, from 1 to 150 Hz, 1 Hz/step Burst (P1) Burst rate: Adjustable, 0.5 ~ 5Hz; 0.1Hz/step Pulse width adjustable, 50~300μS Frequency fixed = 100 Hz Normal (P2) The pulse rate and pulse width are adjustable. It generates continuous stimulation based on the setting value. Pulse Width Modulation (P3) The pulse width is automatically varied in a cycle time. The pulse width is decreased from its original setting to 60% in setting cycle time, and then increased from 60% to its original setting in nest setting cycle time. In this program, pulse rate (1 to 150Hz), pulse width (50 to 300us) and cycle time (5 to 30 sec) are fully adjustable. Pulse Rate Modulation (P4) The pulse rate is automatically varied in a cycle time. The pulse rate is decreased from its original setting to 60% in setting cycle time, and then increased from 60% to its original setting in nest setting cycle time. In this program, pulse rate (1 to 150Hz), pulse width (50 to 300us) and cycle time (5 to 30 sec) are fully adjustable.
